Dr Olaitan Okunoye
Dr Abdoulaye Bocoum graduated from General Medicine in 2018 and is currently doing his 4 year residency training in General Neurology. His thesis was on investigating the molecular basis of Huntington’s disease as well as studying the social factors surrounding this disease in a diverse cultural background.

Dr Bocoum is currently based at the University of Sciences, Technics and Technologies of Bamako, Mali, where for the past year he has been recruiting a large cohort of Malian patients with Parkinson's disease.
With NIH funding through the H3 Africa program, his research group is studying a range of hereditary neurological diseases in Mali identifying new disease genes and variants in the West African population.
